Visitors Center and Maintenance Garage
Governor Thompson State Park is located in the Peshtigo River State Forest near Crivitz, Wisconsin. The project consisted of a new entrance facility along with a maintenance garage, and 50 campsites. The buildings complement the rustic, natural environment and are constructed with sustainable features for energy conservation.
The visitors center has a geothermal heating system, while the maintenance garage utilizes a wood pellet boiler system for heating. All buildings have energy efficient lighting systems complemented by natural day lighting.
Campground and Restrooms
Governor Thompson State Park has a family campground that includes 50 campsites serviced by picnic areas, vault toilets, and drinking fountains. Between the campground loops is a shower/toilet building and sanitary dump station.
