Governor Thompson State Park

Peshtigo River State Forest, WI

Visitors Center and Maintenance Garage

Governor Thompson State Park is located in the Peshtigo River State Forest near Crivitz, Wisconsin. The project consisted of a new entrance facility along with a maintenance garage, and 50 campsites. The buildings complement the rustic, natural environment and are constructed with sustainable features for energy conservation.

The visitors center has a geothermal heating system, while the maintenance garage utilizes a wood pellet boiler system for heating. All buildings have energy efficient lighting systems complemented by natural day lighting.

Campground and Restrooms

Governor Thompson State Park has a family campground that includes 50 campsites serviced by picnic areas, vault toilets, and drinking fountains. Between the campground loops is a shower/toilet building and sanitary dump station.
