Mahwāēwikamek - Where There's Wolves. This name for Wolf River Development Company's new 3-story office building represents strength and protection, a very fitting testament for their facility. Their team celebrated their vision coming to life with a ribbon cutting ceremony and grand opening event on Friday, October 3rd. The new facility on Go Around Road in Keshena has replaced WRDC's existing office locations.
The 21,100 square foot building incorporates several functions including a drive through coffee shop, leasable space, and housing all of WRDC's existing locations into one for a synchronous collaboration experience for their staff.
The purpose of the WRDC is to investigate, review, consider, pursue and conduct any nongaming commercial activity of the Menominee Indian Tribe of Wisconsin - and their new facility allows them to do just that in a more efficient manner.
Housed inside the 21,000 square foot building are 6 commercial rental suites, WRDC offices, open-office spaces, lobbies on each of the three floors, break room, kitchens, conference rooms, staff gym, training room, incubator offices, and a coffee shop inhabited by Morning Star Coffee.
Mahwāēwikamek will help businesses connect with each other and the community, feeling and being a part of the growth happening within the tribe. The facility will offer essential infrastructure, business training, networking resources, and legal and technical support for the businesses of the Menominee Nation with a purpose to strengthen and sustain the tribe’s economic system for long-term growth.
