Every company has its own unique “secret sauce” that makes it an exceptional place to work. Immel Construction is proud to be part of over 220 Wisconsin-based companies that incorporate employee ownership as a key ingredient. Through an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (“ESOP”), employee ownership adds a distinct advantage, enhancing the benefits package, fostering a positive workplace culture and strengthening the company’s long-term vision.
October is Employee Ownership Month (EOM)—a month long celebration of the undeniable benefits employee ownership provides to employees, companies, and the community. At Immel, employee ownership means share success, growth, and collaboration. See what our team put together for the month to celebrate with all our employees.
Community
ESOPs benefit not only our employees in the company, but also the community. We have countless opportunities to give back to organizations that are doing incredible work. This month, we had the opportunity to touch three local organizations:
- Freedom House - Committed to transforming the lives of families experiencing homelessness in our community.
- Grit 920 - Dedicated to inspiring individuals of all abilities to lead healthier lives by providing inclusive, adaptive fitness programs that foster whole-body health and well-being.
- Friends of the Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary - Keeping the “wild” in wildlife is at the core of the mission of the Friends of the Wildlife Sanctuary, aiding in the rehabilitation of animals back to the wild.

Celebrating Milestones
An ESOP vesting period is the time an employee must work at a company before they gain full ownership rights to their stock options or shares. Hitting this milestone is an incredible accomplishment and demonstrates the dedication of our employees. Our team celebrated with an official recognition lunch for those who have become fully vested in Immel's ESOP, gifting employees custom vests for their accomplishment. The following have been inducted into Immel's group of fully vested employees:
- Dan Bins
- Jamie Blom
- Spencer Dohms
- Kirk Fleischman
- Kayla Harper
- Beth Jordan
- Connie Lemmens
- Paul Martzke
- Jon Mottonen
- Marty Mueller
- Deanna Reed
- Laura Reed
